Building a Network for Sustainable Fashion & Entrepreneurship
Entrep-Fashion’s networking event on Sept 5 brought together creative minds to explore sustainability and entrepreneurship. The “Connecting Threads” activity symbolized how individual ideas can build a stronger network. Participants shared visions, created together, and connected with key stakeholders. It marked the start of a growing network for change in sustainable fashion.

Building a Network for Sustainable Fashion & Entrepreneurship
On September 5, the Entrep-Fashion team hosted a creative workshop that brought people together to talk about sustainable fashion and how we can make a real difference through entrepreneurship.
The idea was simple: mix creative activities with big ideas — and most importantly, connect people. This was more than just a nice get-together. It was part of our bigger mission to spark entrepreneurial spirit, create real networking opportunities, and build a strong base of stakeholders in the sustainable fashion space.
Starting with "Connecting Threads"
To break the ice and get people talking, we kicked things off with an activity called “Connecting Threads.” Everyone got a colorful thread and wrote down what they think makes a neighborhood livable and sustainable. As we passed the threads around and tied them together, we created a giant web — a visual reminder of how we’re all connected.
But more than that, this activity was about building real-world networks. It was symbolic of how ideas — and people — are stronger when linked together. This was our first step in setting up an active, vibrant network for changemakers in fashion and entrepreneurship.
Group Discussions with Purpose
We then split into smaller groups to dive into specific topics that tie into the world of sustainable fashion and entrepreneurial action. Each group explored a theme:
Inclusivity – Making sure no one is left out.
Environmental Responsibility – How we can all make sustainable choices.
Democracy & Participation – The importance of being involved in shaping the future.
Social Support – Looking out for people who need a bit more help.
Each group didn’t just talk — they created. They made fabric symbols representing their ideas, which they later attached to a shared art piece. These weren’t just decorations — they were symbols of collaboration and action.
The Big Picture: A Shared Vision
To wrap up, we brought all the fabric pieces together into a long, colorful garland. It was a powerful moment: seeing everyone’s ideas literally connected in one shared vision. This final piece showed how individual efforts — when woven together — can lead to something much bigger.
This is the kind of network activity we believe in at Entrep-Fashion: creative, hands-on, and deeply rooted in real conversations and future action.
Highlight: Collaboration with Simply Repair
We were also lucky to work with Olga Milevska from Simply Repair, whose expertise in sustainable fashion and second-hand clothing was invaluable. Simply Repair specializes in helping migrant women start their own fashion businesses and brought a unique perspective to the event. Their commitment to sustainability was reflected in the themes of responsibility and environmentalism. It’s a perfect example of entrepreneurial spirit — and how important it is to connect with the right stakeholders to create lasting change.
A special THANK YOU to Olga and her team for this fruitful, practical experience!

Looking Ahead
We’re already working on the next round of workshops and refining the questions that matter most. We want to keep building this network — not just talking about change, but actually making it happen.
So if you're passionate about fashion, sustainability, or launching your own business — and want to connect with others who feel the same — we’d love to see you at our next Network Activity.
Let’s keep those threads connecting.
